The Modern Prosthodontic Toolkit: From Fixed Ceramics to Digital Removables
(ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR DR. CHAIMONGKON PEAMPRING)

In the rapidly evolving landscape of restorative dentistry, the standard of care is no longer a static target. This session, “The Modern Prosthodontic Toolkit: From Fixed Ceramics to Digital Removables,” provides a comprehensive deep dive into the dual pillars of contemporary practice.
We begin by navigating the complex world of fixed ceramics, clarifying the selection criteria between high-translucency zirconia, lithium disilicate, and their clinical applications. Also, the newly developed adhesive resin cement will be introduced. We then pivot to the digital frontier, exploring how CAD/CAM workflows, 3D printing, and digital impressions are transforming the fabrication of removable partial and complete dentures—once considered the most analog of dental disciplines. Attendees will leave with a clear roadmap for integrating these technologies to enhance precision, reduce chair time, and improve patient outcomes.

Key Learning Points

– Differentiate between modern ceramic materials based on their mechanical properties and optical characteristics to select the ideal substrate for specific clinical indications.
– Analyze the transition from analog impressions to digital workflows, identifying key checkpoints for accuracy in both fixed and removable prosthodontics.
– Evaluate the clinical efficacy of milled vs. 3D-printed removable prostheses, specifically regarding fit, durability, and patient satisfaction.
– Appraise the cost-benefit ratio of integrating digital removable workflows into a private practice or institutional setting.

Behind the Scenes: Basic to Advanced Removable Dentures
(MR. KOONTOL NAISWASDI)

Key Learning Points

– Understanding Analog viz a viz Digital Dentures
– Melding Digital & Analog for Precision, Aesthetics & Durability
– Customized, patient-centric dentures- how to select the right mould, shape, colour
– Aesthetic enhancement of digital dentures through the art of staining

Mastering the Craft of Pink Aesthetics

Gingival characterization is one of the most critical and challenging aspects of aesthetic dental restorations. Natural gingiva displays unique variations in colour, translucency, and surface texture from one patient to another. This live demonstration focuses on practical methods to accurately replicate these characteristics and achieve seamless gingival integration in restorative applications.

Key Learning Points

– Understanding the complex nature of gingival shade and texture, including natural variations in colour, translucency, saturation, and surface anatomy found in real-life patients.
– Step-by-step techniques to reproduce life-like depth, vitality, and texture using Ceramage gum and Lite Art.
– Methods for achieving smooth shade transitions and natural blending with surrounding restorations
– Proper finishing and polishing protocols to achieve a natural gingival surface luster.
– Clinical applications for customized dentures, implant-supported restorations, and hybrid prosthetics
