Workshop Synopsis
Direct resin reconstruction of the severely compromised anterior dentition is one of the more difficult challenges of clinical dentistry. The anterior dentition can present in many different shades, opacity and translucency. During the workshop participants will have the opportunity to restore a fractured central incisor using an aesthetic dental model that mimics the anatomy of natural teeth. They will learn the Naturomimetic “ONE” Layers Protocol using the Shofu range of bioactive composites and have the opportunity to contour and finish the restoration to a life-like natural lustre. At the end of the session they should have a greater appreciation on how to blend the different resins to achieve predictable aesthetic outcomes and understand a simplified method of finishing and polishing a direct anterior restoration.

Key Learning Points :
1. Able to color match and select the right resins in order to create aesthetic restorations
2. Understand the macro and micro anatomy of anterior teeth
3. Learn to recontour and achieve a lustre like polish that mimics natural enamel
4. Verbal skills to manage patient expectations and case acceptance of higher value options
5. Build confidence in indicating and completing aesthetic anterior restorations

Speaker Profile
Dr. Ronnie Yap is a former President of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and past President of the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore. He was also previously an adjunct senior lecturer in the restorative dentistry department of the National University of Singapore.

Dr. Ronnie Yap is currently a partner in a private group dental practice where half his time is spent on clear orthodontic aligner therapy and the other half on aesthetic and restorative dentistry. He has been an Invisalign Platinum Elite Provider since 2011 and is also founder of the Aesthetic and Digital Dentistry Academy which provides training courses for dentist with live patient courses, hands-on and demonstrations.

He is an Instructor with the MiCD (Minimally Invasive Cosmetic Dentistry) Global Academy and has lectured extensively in Asia on the topic of aesthetic dentistry. In addition, he has a keen interest in nutrition, exercise and health.
